inothernews: Occupy Wall Street demonstrators from Bryant Park marched by my building. About 100 of them stayed on the sidewalk, escorted by cops walking alongside and by two more in the rear. The only chant I heard: “THEY SAY TUITION HIKE / WE SAY TUITION STRIKE!!!” accompanied by drums. EDIT:  Two more groups followed this one — one large crowd, probably 500+ demonstrators, walking in the middle of 5th Avenue and on the sidewalks, accompanied by a phalanx of cops.  The second much smaller, probably 150-strong group (including a group from Occupy New Haven) came afterwards, staying on the sidewalk. I do have to say that one of the cops with the first group was a complete gentleman, not annoyed with my questions and smiling the whole time.
